Amos had once painted a good picture of the complacent to us in Amos 6:1-7. They are the people that put off the evil day (3), lie on beds inlaid with ivory and lounge on their couches, dine on choice lambs and fattened calves (4). They strummed away on harps and improvised on musical instruments (5). They drink wine by the bowlful and use the finest lotions (6). But there is just one problem the complacent have: they “do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph” (7). For the complacent, things that concern God do not concern them. Things that are urgent in the heart of God take the backseat in their hearts. God’s priorities are never their priority. So, they often lack zeal.
Beloved, are you not complacent? When there is a problem or a need in a family or your church, are you concerned? When issues arise that bothers or burden your pastor and leaders, do they bother you? When messages or sermons are hot, powerful, motivating, and challenging are preached in your ears, do you feel touched? When you hear news of events in the world as related to Christ’s second coming, do you feel there is something you must do? Ain't you even complacent about Your life? Is this how you are going to continue looking at opportunities pass you by every month and you still can't think of something good to do with Your life? How long will you continue to live at the expense of begging people for help? When will you do something with Your own life? Some wives are too complacent that they leave everything in the hands of their husbands to fix for them. My dear sister, when are you going to begin to live for yourself too? Many husbands are so complacent to the extent that they had nearly turned their wives into husbands in the house. Hmmm! My dear brother, I pity you, sir! Why are you so comfortable with complacency? At this age and time, your parent is still the ones who are responsible for your kid's school fees? God forbid bad thing.....Your complacent attitude aches the heart of God. Why would you not wake up now and get something done with the things of God and with your life? This is a new Month, work on your talents, gifts, skills, and potentials and turn them into fortunes. You are not made to be poor. No, not at all! Take advantage of this new month and do something tangible with your life.
There are so many things you can do for your church, so, stop waiting and asking for what your church will do for you. Be a blessing to your family & church and not a burden. It's time you stop fighting with your family members because they didn't help you. So many of them are struggling too, just because they are not speaking out like you does not mean that things are okay with them too.....Do something with Your own life too. Stop making more enemies with people just because you expected them to help you and they didn't render help. They are not the cause of your problem. They are fighting their own battles too. Arise and fight for your destiny today.....Listen! If you can ever wake up today, no man shall be able to stand against you. I see a new millionaire emerging in you. I can see an amazing philanthropist in you. I can see a great financial pillar of a church in you. Think! Think!! Think of what else you can do profitably with your life......This is November, it's not over until you make it!!!
May you never die without harnessing your God-given full potential in Jesus' Name. Good Morning, Happy New Month, and do have an insightful day that will result in foresight. May you not lack wisdom today in the mighty name of Jesus. Please, do something rewarding with your life.....Enough of excuses!
