“I’ve never been fraudulent” Skales’ former manager speaks out

Skales‘ new management deal and his decision to stay put with Baseline indicates that all is now well between the artiste and label.

However, one woman who has been at the center of the whole controversy is Skales’ former manager, Osagie Osarenkhoe who was accused by Baseline Music to have diverted over 13 million Naira.

The artiste-manager who was reportedly detained for almost 36 hours along with her client has spoken out on the whole controversy and the accusations in an interview with NET.
In the interview, she asserted she never stole from the record label.

“For the avoidance of all doubts, I didn’t steal from Baseline. There has never been, and will never be any basis to conclude that I have been dubious or fraudulent in my dealings with the label.”
She then explained that what happened was that her and Skales decided to move forward after the label went silent on them in 2015.

She said, ”What we have done is to keep our work and lives going on, following inaction from them.”
One thing that Osagie has come under heavy criticism for, is why she allowed Skales to sign such a ‘ridiculous’ contract with Baseline which included a reported 10 million pounds buyout clause.
On this, Osagie has defended the decision to sanction the deal saying it was signed in the best interest of Skales and not for her ‘personal gains’.

“Everything I have done, from allowing him sign with the label to date was always in Skales’ interest at the end of the day not for my personal gains.”
